Also known as video surgery, this procedure can be performed thanks to a special camera and surgical equipment to operate through some tiny holes, avoiding the classic incision. This surgery has obvious benefits: a shorter hospital stay, minimal issues in the postoperative period, lower risk of infection and, of course, the cosmetic benefit of only having minor incisions.
The procedures done with minimally invasive surgery are as follows:
Abdominal surgery
We offer venous surgery, without hospital stay, for varicose vein treatment. This problem affects 1 out of 10 people and may result in serious health complications in the long run.
Surgical techniques for varicose veins treatment
HCAVI
The procedure of choice for varicose veins treatment is the HCAVI technique (hemodynamic cure of the ambulatory venous insufficiency), especially suitable for people that needs to be back at work quickly, sick elderly people or people with a specific medical record.
Prior to the surgery is mandatory to make a Doppler-ultrasound of the venous system on the legs so we can proceed to mark any varicose veins that needs treatment. The procedure lasts for about 30 to 60 minutes and it is done with local anesthesia, so the patient can walk away from the hospital and proceed their regular life from the same day or the following day. This is the main difference with other techniques, which require long recovery periods.
Phlebectomy
This is another procedure used to treat mid to big, very localized varicose veins. Before starting the operation, the vascular specialist uses a Doppler-ultrasound scan as a guide. After that, they can mark all the vein routes that need extraction. Using local anesthesia, they perform tiny incisions that do not require stitches. This is an ambulatory procedure that requires 1 to 3 days of recovery before resuming normal daily activities.
Non-surgical varicose veins treatment
In case of more superficial varicose and spider veins:
