Obstructive sleep apnea syndrome treatment

This syndrome can have serious consequences in our health, besides generating coexisting problems (since we do not let our partners sleep). However, not only adults have this disorder; it also affects around 2-3 % of children population. The childhood apnea syndrome can affect their development, both physic and academic.

We make different evaluations between adult and pediatric patients, to adapt the procedures to both the individual case and the general circumstances (school, social and family) which affect each age.

We apply the latest advances in the surgical treatment of the obstructive sleep apnea:

  • · Uvulopalatopharyngoplasty
  • · Lingual and palatine tonsil reduction by laser
  • · Lingual and palatine tonsil reduction by radiofrequency
  • · Septum surgery and sinusoidal cavities
  • · Nasal passages radiofrequency

Using laser to reduce the tonsils allow us to avoid removing them, so we can preserve their immunologic function. Furthermore, the reduction does not require to stay in hospital, is painless and also has a quick recovery rate compared to the regular procedure.

In our center, we apply the laser technique to reduce the tonsils, a great advancement in the surgical treatment of this disease.
